Sistahood Celebration

sistahood celebration

Sistahood provides a safe space for creative expression for emerging and established women and gender-diverse artists involved in a range of artistic disciplines, and facilitates dialogue between these artists and the local community. Each year the artistic vision and programming is used to provoke critical thinking on social, political and cultural issues.

Festival Director, Anna HIlliar, first approached Steve to ask for his consulting help in finding a web developer to re-work their outdated website. After reviewing their needs, and realizing their budget was in no way sufficient to achieve happy results, 604 decided to roll up their sleeves and get the job done right.

We are very proud of the website, which is not only pretty to look at, but is backed by a full Content Management System, Calendar Management Tools, and Dynamic Media Player. Basically all content you see on the site can be easily edited by Anna or her team, which we felt was necessary when organizing and directing a festival.

Steve is also honored to sit on the board of directors for Sistahood, though is tempted to believe he is the "token male" on the board. :)

Reel Youth

reel youth

Reel Youth (RY) is a not-for-profit, media empowerment program supporting young people to create and distribute films about their visions for a better world, and the issues that concern them most.

RY facilitates mobile stop motion animation and video making programs that create messages young people most want to share with their community and world. These messages are shared in community screenings, over the internet, and select films are showcased as part of The Touring Reel Youth Film Festival.

604media is just finishing development on new tools to
a) bring their film festival submission process online.
b) automate jury registration, to allow youth to rate video submissions
c) dynamic video galleries and rating system
d) interstitial / transitional video-ad management system

Along with all these tools is our signature Admin Panel, which allows Reel Youth to manage all registrants, festival submissions, ad campaigns, and ratings easily and quickly. Our goal is to streamline their processes in these areas mentioned, to free up more time for directors Mark Vonesch and Erica Køhn to do what they do best: work with youth at realizing their value in this world.

We are looking forward to a next phase where we can help them re-design the site top to bottom.
